Holmes,R. 1963 C. pusillus 12 June Barrow, Alaska 1 along pmas wnt / Frost Lake. - collected 18 June These birds are scarce this year - we hard on Birch Ridge yesterday - only 2 seen along Volh creek this Afternoon - flying - de mud along the Creek bottom (ground level). The species rarely - this small food item area - since they are distributed along Old magis river system. 23 June Net with 4 eggs + inc. bird found on Volh Creek bluffs - 30' east / gravel road (just after It Plan concrete road). On bird did a rodent run, what was accompanied by squeaky notes (see TAPE). Several other seen for bird - same area. 26 June Net with 4 eggs + inc. bird - 150 yds N of Volh. egg 79% round + some layen. cler are - so that stodown were effective in hiding the eggs. Not was disturbed area - as was net above. 29 June Several collected along Volh creek - 6/10th month was beginning. 3 July Net - 147 - found 2 young, just out / they - 8 probate brook 2 were nearby - egg 1 parent present. From young bird probate not fed yet - 2 juveniles collected - not over-banded.
