Holmes,R. 1959 Crenetes pusillus 8 July Barrow, Alaska The distraction display was not used. As their alarm ceiling increased it seemed that other birds passed from surrounding areas, so that there was at least 6 adult birds milling around while I photographed the young. 10 July Barrow, Alaska Several were seen in the drum area, but not near the hotshot nest. The aerial display was heard several times. There was much chasing going on, but territorial defense could not be determined since the chases covered great distances. Two displays as birds landed together on a drum, sat there for several minutes, and then took off again. 13 July Barrow, Alaska A nest with four newly hatched chicks was destroyed below A.R.L.
