Holines,R. 1959 Ereunetes pusillus 3. 14 june Barrow, Alaska in the drum area. One individual was timed while he was performing his flight display. 110 seconds were spent in the air, practically hovering for the entire time. The wings are vibrated rapidly then there is a short period of floating with the wings held at a slight dihedral (~). During this 'floating' period they may drop in elevation as much as 6" to 1 foot but when the rapid wing beats are initiated again the bird is brought back to his original location. 15 june Barrow, Alaska 3 birds were noted going through their aerial displays. Also some chasing was noted. 16 june Barrow, Alaska At least 3 and probably 4 pairs seen settled between Booth's Area and the row of tripod-like structures. Then were seen displaying and chasing other birds from that area. 17 june Barrow, Alaska Several pair seen in and near the drum area.
