Eremetes pusillus
10 june Barrow Alaska
Two (1 pr.) seen and collected
near the gas well road. The
ova of the female were
greatly enlarged, indicating
that they had probably developed
along the way-in migration (?).
These two were seen feeding,
no displays noted.
11 june Barrow, Alaska
Several pair seen in the drum
area, and the flight song was
noted. The 8 will fly 50 to
75 feet into the air, the
glide for a second or two and
then vibrates its wings rapidly
for another second + then
repeat the glide. This is
accompanied by a steady
chattering - sewing machine like
note which hardly varies during
the entire flight. This note
was also noted when
male bird (apparently The 8)
was chasing The ifemale:
aeora. The Jovatra.
