Holmes, R. 1963 C. canadensis 14 June Ogilvie Creek, Cape Thompson, Alaska The bird collected from the nest proved to be a 5' wt (20g). Two BB incubated + participated in nest care, etc. It also gave the war, war note + a short portion of the whistling song - see earlier note. 23 June One bird flushed from polygon area near Elson Lagoon (Unlucky Sky-display area). It gave several war, war notes + flew towards the beach ridge. Circled around, sevent times + then glided onto a landing perhaps a hundred yards from nest (the way). This flight was large - at 2-300' two fast flying - short for brief glide - when the bird banked & changed direction. Later - not sure where the bird landed a songless flight - so far, see earlier notes.
