Holmes, R. 1959 6 July Barrow, Alaska Three seen in the gravel banks in the SW corner of freshwater Lagoon. Pitelbe reported that at 2200 on 5 July, the eggs were missing from the previously described nests, but the female was still present in the area. At 0800 this morning, the adult bird were not seen in the area. 19 July Barrow, Alaska One seen flying west along the ocean front in front of the base. 31 July Barrow, Alaska About 35 were present in one flock on the slim of freshwater lagoon. They were in company of Black-bellied & Golden Plovers. 5 August Barrow, Alaska A flock of 20 were present along the sandspit towards Newak. 19 August Barrow, Alaska One seen on the shore of Freshwater Lagoon, and another was noted along the ocean front in front of the base. 23 August Barrow, Alaska Several noted along the beach between ARC and the village by M. Daniels.
