13 June Barrow, Alaska
2 pair seen along the gravel area
near the dump (behind the house).
One pair flew off to another gravel
area about 50 yards away, but
the other pair seemed reluctant to
move and when they finally
flushed, they returned to the
same area. A few minutes later
a lone individual tried to join
these 2 and was driven out
by apparently the male of the pair.
This was accomplished by a chase
for about 30 yards. The male
returned to the female.
15 June Barrow, Alaska
At least two pairs were still in the same
location. No interspecific stuff was
observed today. Both pairs seemed to become
very excited when the observer approached
the area.
18 June Barrow, Alaska.
Several pairs spent the stationary
around the stream area and also
near the dump. Several chases were
noted among members of a pair and
among one member and an outsider.
The territorial boundaries could have been established.
