Holmes, R. 1959 Arenaria interprrs 5 June Band Area, A.R.L. Barrow, Alaska. Weather overcast, lightsouth + SE wind. Several seen during the day in this location - mostly in groups of 2-3. Occasionally some aggressiveness was noted as 1 individual would chose another 6 June Barrow, Alaska. These birds are present in small numbers and can be seen on the exposed tundra in groups of 2-3. 9 June Barrow, Alaska One individual seen feeding in The drum area. 10 June Barrow, Alaska A pair (?) Seen near the gravel road feeding. No aggressive or display behavior was noted. 12 June Barrow, Alaska One pair seen near the drum area. They were sitting on a patch of exposed gravel and allowed me to approach within ~10 feet before they flew. After resting for several times, they settled about 15 feet away from the original place.
