Holmes,R. 1963 Pluvialis dominica 2 June Barrow, Alaska A pair (or at least 2 seen together) - explosed hundle at Oohpile Census plot. 3 June One broods E[s?]-b[rood?]- at Amberley display area. 6 June A pair on Village Slope bluff. 8 June 2 chevrons a lower ridge, w. of map. Stat. 11 June 1 seen between gusliet level ridges 3 flying east over volcano. 15 June One pair - census plot - 3 flying arr. 18 June Just par . 21 June No bird seen to be settled on The Shroarvih Census Plot - Although several individuals were seen. No displays noted. 25 June - 1 bird a nest plot (without display) + a pair in south plot. No display activity. 29 June - 1 nest with 3 eggs - 50rds west/gasline- NWT sasquawney. (GP.2). GP.1 - with 4 eggs found a Shroard census plot - Bleed moss- lichen. The incubating bird gave strong distractive display. Head down horizontal with ground + forward - body feathers ruffled - wings extended fully to the side + flapping, tail depressed + widely fanned. + As I approached The nest - it turned & looked at me - wings still spread horizontally.
