Holmes,R. 1961 Pluvialis dominica 9 July Barrow, Alaska Now seen on the beach ridge - incl. The Census plot. Both nests on the plot were empty - with no sign of chicks or chicks present. None seen in a trip over to Eben Lagoon & North along Wolfschloß Slough. The bird was on our nest, just so. At the slough - the 4 eggs were not hatching yet. This was the only bird seen all day - none occurred Central marsh. 10 July Flock of 6 seen No of Ooths; Area - Feeder in the low polygon troughs. 13 July Hark 1 10 at 5.30, 1 Wohl - when it met Eben. Some were working and flew off in 1 flock. Another 6 were seen near origin. The nest just so. 1 The slough was poor - probably hotbeds At 9 was seen nearby (200 yds.) who showed signs of having gone. Bird I saw none. This is the first bird to show this behavior - the remainder this year have shown no concern. Another flock of 6 was seen West Pools Slough, 15 July Flock of 15 so. 1 The inset plot. Feeding in the wet marshy areas away the lowland ponds. Several were starting to show the moult - externally.
