Holmes, R, 1961 Pluvialis dominica 3 26 June Bennov, Alaska At Dr Curve of Dr B.R. - in Dr meadow - 7 adult plum were seen feeding together. A few hundred yds south, creek grass 16 were together. - No aggression was noted. Presumable all 1 May Nest have not reared - but may use this one as common feeding grounds. 4 July Two new nests were found along the census plot (see census sheets) - both with 4 eggs + 4 gave strong distraction displays (Feet scrunched, and spread t curved down at top + the fluttered and the bird staggered or weaved from side to side as she runs away from the nest, while she Dr while looking over her shoulder to see if you are following). 7 July Now seen a Dr plot at Sherravik. A flock of 16 birds seen feeding together, 50 yds east of Dismount plot - N. 1/4th, Ann. This group showed no sign of flurry - all were feeding on the ridge slope randomly + all flew off together when flushed - [illegible] landed in Dr meadow - 507 yds away. Returned feeding. Are all their nest failures? -
