They were indiv - not paired. 8 june 6 seen flying eastward along the edge of the tundra ice. 15 june Barrow, Alaska. I seen flying over tundra thekenol (So.) The drum area. It soar flying high and towards The east and apparently had no intention of stopping. 19 june Barrow, Alaska One seen flying over the tundra near the beach ridge. It was flying high and calling. 23 june Barrow, Alaska One pair seen as pond near Glen Lagoon. Also one seen flying over the beaver ridge near the gasoline line 25 june Barrow, Alaska Several fly and heard flying near Walsh's Slough. 30 june Barrow, Alaska Several heard near lower Meadow Lobe in the early morning. 5 July Barrow, Alaska Several seen on the ponds near Nawuk. 6 july Barrow Alaska. 2 seen flying west over freshwater lagoon.
