Holmes,R. 1959 Grus canadensis 23 August Barrows, Alaska Four birds were seen just south of Voth's area near the creek that drains Voth's Slough. They appeared to be feeding + were seen there in the morning, and evenings by Lowell Douglas. During the evening, they were noted prancing about with very bald raima + on were seen to chose another with the wings half-spread. After watcher them for several minutes, we approached within 50 yards before they flew.
