Apparently swim molt has not started yet (or has already been completed). 6 large flocks seen sea along Elson Lagoon and the shore of the Arctic Ocean between ARL and Nunavik. These birds were still capable of flight. Several males, even in their full breeding plumage. 1 September Barrow, Alaska 7 seen along the shore near middle saltwater lagoon. These were both PP + 49 - all in winter plumage.
