They were flying southward. 9 June - The above (?) pair was seen in the morning + afternoon, sitting on a pond about 1 wg between the two sloughs. They were flushed 3 times during the course of my fieldwork + each time they returned to the same vicinity. 23 June Skrowik (Barrow), Alaska A pair seen flying north over the plot 24 June - A pair seen during the entire day on the pond, in front of the vanigan. A 8 was seen at the mouth + The bird went into the lake. 25 June - The pr. 11 still present on the pond. They will feed for an hour or two and will then climb up onto the bank + preen or sleep. 29 June Skrowik, Alaska The 8 was sitting on the edge of the pond this evening. The 4 was nowhere to be seen. 1 July Seen near So. end of census plot. 8 still present in front of vanigan
