One flock of 12 birds flew eastward
within 30 yards of the observ-
ating Point. The white area
in the side of the head was
not sharply defined, but
was noticeable.
19 June Barrow, Alaska
A group of 15-16 flew over the
head ridge leading toward central
Marsh.

Several small groups seen flying
inland northeast census area.

One male seen east of Nunwak
in canyon with King Eider
and Old Squaw!

One moulting ? found dead near
Elsan Lagoon,
11 August P.H Point, Alaska
A & and 6 young were seen a
small pond (60 x 500 ft) about
1 mile so. at the base. The young
had attained their barred,
brown plumage. The "spectacle"
was noticeable.
