Holmrs,R. 1959 Lampronetta fischeri 7 June Barrow, Alaska One flock of 12 birds flew eastward within 30 yards of the observ- ating Point. The white area in the side of the head was not sharply defined, but was noticeable. 19 June Barrow, Alaska A group of 15-16 flew over the head ridge leading toward central Marsh. 23 June Barrow, Alaska Several small groups seen flying inland northeast census area. 5 July Barrow, Alaska One male seen east of Nunwak in canyon with King Eider and Old Squaw! 31 July Barrow, Alaska One moulting ? found dead near Elsan Lagoon, 11 August P.H Point, Alaska A & and 6 young were seen a small pond (60 x 500 ft) about 1 mile so. at the base. The young had attained their barred, brown plumage. The "spectacle" was noticeable.
