7. Holmes, R. 1966 Polysticta stellari 11 July Barrow, Alaska Two nests were located on The B. Ridge near The weasel mound. One is located on The slope of The ridge (west-expanse) and so in just a small depression. The 4 can be seen from many feet away, and the nest is very exposed. There were 6 eggs. The second nest was about 30 yards away from the 1st located on the edge of a trench across from The weasel mound. It is in among The deep furrows & is fairly well hidden. 14 July Shroawik, Alaska 587 seen near The north slough into the lake. The 9 was still at The nest west / Wanigan pond. 9 stayed there 12 July. 17 July Barrow, Alaska The nest on The west slope of The beach ridge watched this morning. By 1300, The young were following 4 behind The 9. Pictures were taken. The 9 was delicate at the nest near The wanigan. 18 July - A 9 and 5 young seen in a pond, South of Woblesblos Slough. 22 July. The 2nd nest (across from The weasel mound) on The BR was just started to rip this afternoon.
