Holmes, R. 1960 6. Polytichita stellari 2 july Ikerovik, Alaska The pair have again been present - front of the wanija. In two occasions (one in the morning, one in the evening), Three 8's have been seen with 4, and I have had glimpses of courtship activities. 3 july - A nest was found about 158 yards south of Lon Lake. It contained 2 eggs, which were light, khaki green. The nest was located on a slight mound which was about 8 feet from a small pond (40x60' feet). The nest was exposed and was composed mostly of grass (lying), plus some down. Both 8's were present. 8 july Banow-Shirovilk, Alaska 60-80 seen near Ales. 1 male seen on pond at Skroovik (wanija). 10 july Skroovik, Alaska A nest was found 150 yards east of Wanigan pond near State O.O. The nest is located in a crevise at the edge of a polygon. The nest was composed of pieces of grass + down - all mured Together. There were 7 brown- green eggs.
