This evening, 2♂ + 1♀ were in the pond in front of the camp. All 3 birds were doing the hood jerk - when the head is jerked so that the bill is pointing directly upward. The 2♂ would be to each other, or one of the ♂ would do it toward or with the ♀. These hood jerking sessions would last for 40-60 seconds then there would be a short period
