Holmes, R 1959 Polyocha stellari 7. 18 July Barrow, Alaska She settled again on the nest. A group of three birds were seen on Lompund, just south of Footprint Lake where were in spectacular plumage. Either the male, molting female or males in eclipse plumage. The head was light brown while the body was the usual dark chestnut brown and we seemed to show the moustache line except for the colnation. (Suggesting a black spot could be seen on the side?) The chest????). 19 July Barrow, Alaska The nest was checked again at 0800. The eggs had all hatched, and the young were quite active. The female flushed from the nest, and the young followed her. They pant were light grey and had four lines of white across the side of the head. 20 July Barrow Alaska One flock 13 and one of 25 Aleut near the church camp. The group 1 13 included one whale which was still vulnerable, but bore a weaker appearance. The remainder
