Salt 1947 Journal 8mi W, 3mi N, McKittuck, 2100 ft., Kern Co., Calif. Sept. 17. Went down stream from camp with express purpose of collecting Calif. Jays & Brown Towhees. Weather was windy & foggy and both proved hard to shoot. Finally collected some plus a Bell Sparrow. Didn't see anything else exciting. Skinned the rest of day. High wind came up in afternoon, also fog. Went to Twisselmans for dinner. Leaving for Berkeley tomorrow.
