WC Russell M V Z, Berkeley, Calif. Mar 18 1959 Killed ♀ mole #13410 this morning and saved her tubes in Bouin's. These are tubes to show their appearance 14 days after birth. This mole caught Feb 1 weighed 67.5g. Her wt. started going up: Feb 11 - 92.0g - Feb 22 83.7g - Feb 26 88.4 - Feb 27 93.5g - Mar 1 99.5g. Give birth night Mar 3-4 to 3 young. Weighed 82.3g when killed Mar 18 1959, and had considerable fat. More fat than they have in the wild. Vagina closed Killed #13405 Mar 18 1959. wt. 60.5g. It was collected with trap Jan 17 1959 and weighed 80.8g. It was with a ♀ from Feb 27 to Mar 7. Tubes pickled. They still had some blood around them. Now suspect she had had young when taken. The vagina was open. Mar 24 1959 not acc. for class Swan Lake Wildlife Area, Missouri 13431 ♀ Blue-winged Teal captured in wild about Oct 10 1958 by M. Milowski.
