W.C. Russell Blacktail Deer Cr., 6700 ft., Yellowstone Park, Wyo. Aug 26 1967 Set out 42 traps in the meadow right in front of the cabin. This "meadow" is the dardest conglomeration of botanical specimens I have ever seen. It almost defies description. There are low willow clumps usually not over 3-4 ft. high. I get the impression there are all new growth say less than 5 yr. old. Like it had been possibly averaged years ago. Then there is the mass of stuff that makes up the meadow. There are sedges grasses herbs & low brushel. Certainly hope some one has described them by name. There are trickles of water, seeps, pond lets and mdsso. It's hell to walk through for any distance. Aug 27, 1967. The Microtub situation is quite different than at last camp. In morning took 2 Sorex sp? ( # 14407 & 14408 ). Both young I guess as they were very small & I couldn't sell them. Took 2 Micotus, 1 Zapus, & 1 Clethionomys. Left the traps out & in afternoon took 1 Zapus & 2 Micotus. The one Enpidon # 14406 was found
