R.C.Russell 7 mi. N Burney, 4300 ft., Shasta Co., Calif. June 11, 1958 animals had been swallowed complete - no tears in either mouse. June 12, 1958 Stayed in camp today - worked on my talk to be given at Mammal meeting next week. The Clethrionomys #13531 was caught by hand when I tore open a rotten log. This log was 14" diam. The animal had a nest and run through the rotten wood like a Microtus trail through thick grass. June 13, 1958 Broke camp at 7 A.M. and arrived in Berke around 1 P.M.
