M.G. Russell N Fork Gaas River, 5000 ft, Lincoln Co, Mont. July 3 1966 the ridge. He found some grass cutting but not much. Set out 25 mouse traps around these piles of cutting. July 4 1966 The only took 2 Microtus #14269 WCR +103 DW Conard in this meadow at head of Pete Creek, also 1 Zapus. While picking up traps heard Jay & junco making a Luser found them moving an out. Couldn't get a shot and don't know what kind. Took a second Mustel in pit set near camp that has been baited with a marmot carcass. July 5 1966 Part of the gang drove up to Hawkins Lake at 6800 ft. This is a small lake some 3/4 mi. NE of North West Peak. Said peak is so named since it is in the very corner of the state. While hunting around a rock slide they saw 3 wolverines one of which was carrying a marmot. They returned for me and we climbed the rock slide and could hear one animal growling in the rocks
