Piranga ludoviciana "Sylvester" This bird was picked up on the ground, having just left the nest, and was raised by hand. Found in suburb of 1953. It was kept in cage by Miss Euda Carpenter Eucalipt ave, Berkeley for 7 years. Bird died July 5 1960. A fine pet in the family. It liked to perch on her shoulders while she was doing her housework. Bird like flies. Death was rather sudden & a dead fly-possibly killed by fly spray was suspected as cause of demise.
