M. Russell Buke, Alameda Co., Calif. Feb 10 1965 By contract a 3rd area is a close creped sheep pasture that is a knoll with gentle slopes in all directions. E W N S This area, some 200 yds in diam., has a good number of mounds - not as many as previous years but conspicuously more than any other area seen this season. And the drainage would be real good. Many other areas that had a good slope, but all in one direction, and previously had many mounds, are undisturbed at this time. And right of this time is the busiest period of the year for mole activity. Made 12 sets with kid traps and left over night. Weather clear. Feb 11 1965 Weather clear humidity low in Buke, but frost in Tomalle area. Took 3♀'s & 1♂. All ♀'s pregnant - each with 3 emb., and sizes very small. 1 set emb. 2mm after being in Bouine - 1 set 5mm in Bouine & the 2nd set just slight lumps on the tubal.
