We were in this general area in Sept. 1964 for dove hunting and cottontails were plentiful. However from Sept 1964 to Jan 1965 I judge there was considerable die off. We found 1 rabbit dead - not lately. and I would say on the latter date there was not over 1 where there were 5 in Sept. This is an impression, no counts were made.
