N.C. Rossell M.V.Z., Berkeley, Calif. Sept 11 1961 acc 9990 (cont) Our attention to the very small rabbit was directed to it because it squealed loudly. No wonder for the femur of st. leg was broken? Decided to try raising the animal so started feeding diluted cow's milk in a medicine dropper. Animal was fed green stuff, rabbit pellets and milk. Up to time it was made into a specimen it professed milk to other foods. Never did have any water. Only milk twice a day. Pellets were before it at all times and greens usually once a day. Animal was wild to handle but showed no fight when our cat or dog were finds it. In fact it always came forward in cage to touch nose with dog or cat. When I put my hand in cage to catch it, it would strike with both front feet. Never offered to bite. Animal caught on May 13 1961 and dispatched Sept 10 1961. Estimated age at capture 2-3 days. This specimen therefore is 4 mo. old. Skull saved to show bone development of 4mo!
