April 5, 1960.
Make an addition on the pen of #13680 to give her more exercise while feeding.
Added a runway 6 ft. long x 1 ft. with and put in 5" of earth. After finishing this pen I checked the nest of this ♀ and had 2 yq. yesterday. Well today there was one left & it was dead! Change of plans!
Have decided to use this runway for 30 days - scattering the food in it and burying it at random. This mole is going to really dig to get its food. Its weight today is 89.7g.
She weighed 71.3g when caught. Want to see if she will approximate her caught wt. after a month's exercise.
Killed #13680 on Apr 20. Found she was still too fat even with 2 weeks exercise. Think now had better go back to diet of worms.
