M.C. Russell M.V.Z., Berkeley, Calif. Jan. 18, 1960 Started again after moles. On Feb. 5, 1959, I described a gadget for spotting working moles at night. It was not too successful. However a thought came to me how this gadget might be modified to work better. Spent Sun. screwering the sticks. Previously the triggers were placed at the entrance to and opened burrow. The idea being that when light went on I would dash there & find mole working and dig it out with shovel. Didn't work that way. The mole would plug opened burrow, just enough to activate the light & then often wait awhile before continuing working. Also I didn't always know where the burrow was so it was difficult to dig out. Decided to make a slightly different approach to the matter. The idea is to make a 12-14" cut in the mole's burrow and set the light stick in center of this cut. Now when light comes on the theory being sir mole will be
