Found a place where turkeys are using for
dust bath. Depressions in a dusty area;
8-10 of them some 18" in diam. One guide
old Mens trail digging but so far haven't
flushed one.
Late in afternoon after dinner around
7 P.M., I was sitting just looking out over the
broad expanse of fields to north when a
wild cat walked within 50 yds. of camp on
way to water. He gave no indication of
disturbance at all till I moved to get a gun.
Then a bit later 2 gobblers ran
across open fields some 250 yds. from
camp. They had been coming to water when
Bill surprised them. So it was like sitting
on the front porch and watching the parade
of animals.
