J. Rogers - 1940 Sceloporus occidentalis June 26, supp. 1708 of itinerary etc. Nov. 11 Mrs. Kert Zool, Univ. Calif., Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif. Three live specimens on hand at present. Marked, 4BH (σ), 4LH (ζ), and forked tail (2ψ). They are given my catalogue numbers as follows: 4BH (2712), forked tail (2713), 4LH (2714). 2712 σ has been in captivity at least 6 months; may have been infected with protozoa by Jacob Frenkel; has been living on ledge outside of window of my office for a month. 2713ζ has been in captivity since last May, has been active, and appears to be in good condition. [Though 2712 has been quite active most of the time, there have been periods of a week or two when 2713 (in same cage) dominates him. At least, 2712 didn't get up onto his perches, and lay quietly on the sand. 2712 has never appeared as sleek and fat as 2713]. 2714 ζ was brought in about 10 days ago, put into a cage, and has been out of sight since then. 2712 has been living on the ledge outside my window for a month or more. It has eaten many meal worms that have been thrown to him, and has actually come inside at least one. Yesterday Saturday (this is Monday) I made a box for the ledge that I figured would give the lizards shelter, loose soil and perches [see diagram on p.2]. This morning, before 2712 had come out of the box, I put 2713 and 2714 in also. It was cool (about 15° above frost) that morning. It is clear and slightly
