of nest no. 3
Eggs moved to SE corner of NE quarter. No. III very dirty and slightly shrivelled - I took it onto washed it.
For the past week, the eggs have been half buried in the bank of a runway or chamber; more so than in the past. In the past they have been more out on top of the soil in the floor of a runway or chamber. The soil seems a little too damp where the egg is now.
The parent was found this morning in the NE quarter of the newly accessible (sup. 43, Sept. 14) northern half of the terrarium. She was in a chamber that extended under 3 of the 4 quarters of this half, but that was completely sealed off from the exit (in the NW quarter).
The eggs are in the dampest part of the 4 quarters of the south half. They could not be moved to the north half without carrying them up out of the hole and down the hole of the north half. I have removed all of the cover of the south half so the soil can dry out a little.
