Eumenes skiltonianus July 8 (cont.) Mus. Vert. Zool., Univ. Calif., Berkeley, Alam. Co., Calif. run freely down thru the cracks to the lower parts. An averaged about 2 meal worms a day have been thrown into the each unit. There are no water dishes on these observation units. On June 23, a bulging female (TR 3356) was put in the mayonnaise jar unit. 3356 has shed since she was put in, as evidenced by many scales lining scattered through- out the tunnels and cavities made by her. I did not notice them peeling from her body. I did notice them peeling from the body of 3116; it is free of loose scales to-day and many scales are scattered throughout the tunnels and cavities and on top. 3114 and 3115 have not shed. On July 1, it was first noted that 3113 had a lumpy appearance as well as being generally bulged. July 6, 3114 was noted to have several lobes to her bulge. To-day (1:10 pm) I found five eggs with 3113 in a space hollowed out by her in the southwest corner of her cage. As I raised the quarter of the unit, she hesitated about two seconds, as if deciding which way to go, then moved under the next compartment to the east. One egg is much smaller than the rest. I will measure them next time I look at them, rather than both her
