Oct 29 Mrs Vert Zool, Univ. Calif, Berkeley, Alameda Co, Calif.
♂ No.22 just weighed & measured. Evidently just completed shedding - fragment of old skin yet on tip of tail. No red on tail.
♂ No.25, Head red but duller than no.22. Rather dull on back; probably has not shed recently. Tail with no trace of red.
♀ No.14 Probing this lizard, I could probe a pocket about 5mm deep. However, the proportions of the head of this individual look like female tone. Head not red, tail red. Dark on back, so? not yet shed.
♂? No.10 Probed about 7 mm. Slender head like female.♂?
One purple (blue purple) scale about 15mm from tip of tail. Shedding - much skin comes off as I handle it. No red Head. Red Tail, especially ventrally. Oct 30 pulled plug out of right hemipenis.
♀ No.2214 Probed only 5mm. Red mark on sides of head. Red tail. Probably has not yet shed.
♂ No.1 Top of head to nearer Light Brownish Olive than Isabella Color (Pl XXX, 19,"j). Labials near Chamois (Pl XXX, 19,"l)*. No red on tail. Probably not shed recently.
*slight suggestion of pink. Found dirt hardened in opening to hemipenis. Cleaning it off, I pulled a 10mm plug of light brown waxy substance out of the right left hemipenis. I painted it with iodine before returning the lizard to the cage. Oct 30 - pulled plug out? right side.
