J. Rodgers -1941
Cnemidophorus tesselatus
Mar. 15, 1941 Mus. Vert. Zool., Univ. Calif., Berkeley, Alameda C., Calif.
2173 stayed out on top of the sand last night and looks very thin and inactive. This morning I open its mouth and pushed a mealworm pupa and a drop of camphol down into its throat, then a drop water.
It keeps its eyes closed most of the time but moves around the cage and tries to climb up the corner much of the time. The sun is warm enough so that 2167 came out on its own volition and is lying on the sand in the sun. Another lizard (probably 2172) has its head sticking out of the entrance to one of the retreats. Both the others are at the entrance.
2167 is having a bug feast - he has eaten at least a dozen meal worms in about 10 minutes. The other (or another) in the entrance are also eating a few.
