0720 hrs Arose to check traps
0940 hrs Out of 80 traps set along a trail toward the Ojo de
Agua (60) and twenty set away from the trail to the Ojos where
the road dead ends collected the following from a total of 34
animals: 7 Netemmys (one escaped) 26 P. mexicanus, and 1
Olyzomys fulvescens. Ed collected 22 animals from 80 traps
of the following forms: 1 Netemmys, 20 P. mexicanus, and 1
Olyzomys fulvescens.
1130 hrs Departed this locality after shifting the Netemmys
and olyzomys into different holding cages, feeding the
live animals and having breakfast.
1425 hrs Arrived Tuxtpec, Oaxaca, traveling south from
Cordoba towards Veracruz until a turnoff to the right
towards Tierra Blanca, then to Cd. Aleman., then
another right toward Tuxtpec. Along the way we stopped
for fruit and bread.
1505 hrs leaving Tuxtpec after buying vegetables and filling
up with gas. We need ice as well, but must return to
Tuxtpec tomorrow as today most places are closed for the Holiday.
1535 hrs Arrived at tonight's collecting locality (25.8 mi SW
(by rd.) Tuxtpec). This area is a small stand to the
right of the highway (northwest) where Netemmys have
been taken on two previous occasions.
1705 hrs Returned to camp (at turn out in rd) after setting
40 Sherman's. The area is moderately disturbed, rocky with
