Duke S Rogers 1980 Journal 30 December (32) 0710 hrs Arose and pinned out specimen from last evening's tarotyping. 11:20 hrs After breakfast and making slides from animals tarotyped last night we are ready to begin taking blood and tissue 1555 hrs Completed taking blood and tissue on the following: 15. hospidus, # 1579, 12 P. mexicanus #1580-1589, 1591-2, 4 (heteromys) 1593-96, and 3 more P. mexicanus #1597-99. I failed to give the localities for the animals trapped on 29 December. The locality Ed and David trapped was 9.5 mi SE (by rd.) Cateraco, 50m, whereas mine was 8.8 mi SE (by rd.) Cateraco, 50m. 2140 hrs Have spent the remainder of the afternoon and evening repacking the vehicle, ordering the Sherman traps, and changing litter in live animal cages as well as pinning out some animals. Tomorrow we will pick up a few supplies and then drive to Ajo de Agua. We should get there early enough to set out many traps. I would like to pick up a small series of Heteromys from here, then off to the Tiptepe area. The weather today was once again cool. Cloudy in the morning, partly cloudy in the afternoon. I think rain may be offering tomorrow. 31 December fed live animals 0725 hrs Arose and dressed, pinned out specimens with scratch grain and cabbage. 0925 hrs Finished repacking carapell and preparing to depart
