1815 hrs David and I set up a bat net at the head of the trail.
2005 hrs Metted a Pteronotus davisi. Ed has set out 40 shermans in habitat similar to mine. Total traps out: 120 (100 mature vegetation : 20 secondary weeds).
The area of moderately disturbed vegetation is quite rocky, with many boulders. Many vines, some rotten logs.
Area looks potentially fairly good. Some large [illegible] trees remaining.
2040 hrs last entry. At this point I plan to remain here for two nights, then move on to a mountain locality near San Cristobal (mt. Zonteuhitz).
19 December
0645 hrs arose to check traps
0905 hrs Out of 60 sherman set in mature habitat collected the following: (18 animals) 2 Histonomyg desmarestianus, 6 Tylomys,
8 Peromyscus mexicanus, 1 Scotinomys, and 1 Oryzomys (so correct?)
From the twenty traps set in secondary jungle growth around the camp area collected 6 animals : 1 Tylomys, 5 P. mexicanus.
1005 hrs After eating lunch and caging some of the animals, Ed and I will take tissue and skin a series of P. mexicanus and Tylomys.
1345 hrs took a break for lunch... Have taken tissue on a series of P. mexicanus (DSR 1417-1428).
1545 hrs Finished pulling tissue and preparing a series of Tylomys (DSR 1435-1441)
