Duke & Roger 1980 Journal (17) a mechanic ourselves but were unable to locate one. We then went to a Chevrolet parts store located on the northwest corner of the central plaza in Huixtla. a boy came with us to the hotel but did not know where the gas filter was located. He told us he would get a mechanic over to us. We then decided since it was rather late to just load up the vehicle and drive to Tonala that night. Then perhaps Ali would be able to help us. The mechanics arrived ca. 1600 hrs and since the car was now running better indicated that we should drive it to their shop. The shop is located across from the Pemex on the east side of town on the highway leading to Tapachula. They first replaced the gas filter, and the car still ran poorly. They then decided that it was the cables from the distributor to the plugs. The main Chevrolet place located ca. 2 mi. east of the Pemex did not have the correct type. They were going to splice some wires when one of the mechanics got the car to run smoothly by adjusting the carburetor. Total cost $379 pesos ($300 labor, $99 for gas filter.) 2145 hrs Turned in after eating supper 18 December 0640 hrs Arose and prepared to leave 0720 hrs Having repacked the car we checked out of the hotel and drove to get gas. 1045 hrs We stopped in Tonala to pick up ice and
