Duke S. Rogers 1980 Journal From Cerro Mezotol (about 9 mi from Huehla) a small boy ran out from behind a truck and was hit by one car. Luckily he was not seriously hurt, just bruised. 1600 hrs Began keyotyping six animals. (3 H. nebloni, 2 P. guatemalensis, and 1 P. bagfii) (DSR#s 1399-1404) 2005 hrs Finished with keyotyping and preparing animals. 2140 hrs Arrived back at hotel room after eating supper. We plan to keytype Tomorrow, then set traps in the evening. The car is still running poorly, it will need to be worked on. If we leave the area tomorrow perhaps I will stop in Puerto Ariosto and see if Xlii is there. He may be able to recommend a good mechanic in Tonala. 17 December 0640 hrs Arose and dressed 0730 hrs Attempted to find a restaurant open for breakfast without luck. We came back to hotel to keytype. 1230 hrs Finished keyotyping, taking blood & tissue from eight more animals (DSR#s 1407-1414). Two animals died during the night (1 Rotho and 1 P. guatemalensis). Later in the morning another two animals (same species also died. 1310 hrs Returned from eating lunch. 1515 hrs After resting, prepared to set out traps, however, the car stalls out every time it is put in anything but park. We have to get it repaired. 2030 hrs. The car has been fixed. We just looked for.
