Duke & Roger 1982 Journal (34) another place are to call Pedro here to see if we can arrange to work in the laboratory today. 12:20 h Arranged with Pedro to work in the lab typing and still need a place to stay. 1930 h Spent the afternoon and evening typing We are staying at Hotel Asia, located on 11th street about 3/4 of a block north of Avenida Central for $ 170/night for three. 2 August Monday 0700 h Arose, dressed and prepared to leave for breakfast. 0840 h Arrived at the laboratory. I plan to type this morning, then take the afternoon off. Today is a religious holiday, celebrated by many people making a pilgrimage to Cartago from San José. Phil has moved his departure date up to the 4th, so he will be getting his possessions organized and we will have to plan what he will clear on his permit. 2100 h Phil & I discussed what he will clear. In addition to taking a dozen live heteropids back, he will clear about 35 other prepared skins plus skeletal material and some alcoholics. He will be turning over to the permit office one example of each species he is clearing as an alcoholic. Tomorrow morning will be spent going with Phil to obtain his exportation permit and exportation licence. I want to go with him instead of typing so I will know what to do.
