9 September
0730 hrs Arosa and prepared to drive to Santa Agueda.
1145 hrs Arrived at St. Agueda ca. 10:40. Very hot. No evidence of gopher activity here. Collected several lizards. Spent early morning preparing specimens.
2330 hrs. Arrived back at hotel in Mulege. We night-walked at Santa Agueda but only came up with several toads and gekkos. Collected a Spermophilus (from natives) and a Peromyscus in a rock crevice.
10 September
0745 hrs. We decided to cut the trip short since collected is so poor. We plan to spend another morning at Santa Agueda collecting herps and then drive to San Ignacio and camp for the night.
11:00 hrs. Activity is still rather poor. Spent the morning shooting lizards. We were able to collect 4 or 5 colored lizards along the road from Hwy 1 to Santa Agueda with a pellet rifle.
12:45 Stopped [illegible] to change money in Santa Rosalia.
15:20 Arrived San Ignacio. Temperature seems cooler here. Definitely less humid than the coast.
21:00 hrs. RS and I have set 100 Shermanos in two different habitat types. The first (referred to as rocky plateau) was located above the oasis and date palm area where we camped. This plateau overlooked the town of San Ignacio to the southwest, many cacti, very rocky substrate. Set #5.
