0630 hrs Arose, dressed, and prepared to drive to our collecting site.
0710 hrs Made bats in the net left out over night, including a Desmodus and several large Artibeus.
0830 hrs Returned from checking my 80 traps. I collected 3 Vetersyns, 3 Oryzmys and one anrnel (large) that may be a Echimyid- although it is not spiny.
Ed caught 4 or Neterans and Phil collected another individual of the one described above. Phil collected another as well.
0920 hrs Arrived back in Limon after helping Phil remove all the bats from the nets. These species not on the permit were released. (Glossophaga, Choeroma, Lonchophylla).
We will load our gear, eat breakfast, and drive to San Jose tonight and tryp near Villa Colon.
1130 hrs Arrived Turrialba
1210 hrs Arrived San Jose.
1355 hrs Our usual hotel was full, so we found a "place" Pension Americana for $50 per person. It is a dive and we are on the top floor- making it hard to move all our gear up there.
1420hrs Left San Jose for Villa Colon
1600 hrs Prepared to leave Villa Colon after stopping to eat.
We were told of "forest" west of town. We will attempt to find it and set traps in it.
1900 hrs Returned to Pension Americana. The caves (two we tripped)
