Duke & Roger 1982 Journal (28) disturbed, but it is the best I have seen and we have to get traps out of some sort. I don't hold out too much hope for collecting any Heteromys here - or much else for that matter. 40 of my traps are in the most "nature" area along the southwestern bank of the river above a small washed out partially paved road. Another 30 are set in and along some secondary growth on the roadside to the northwest of the river. Ed and Phil each set a box of traps in the "front" and then took out another box each in the same area (Phil) and along the southeast bank (Ed). 1800h. We have all returned from setting out our traps and now plan to drive back into town to eat. 30 July (Friday) 0715 hrs Checked out of our "hotel" which we had considerable trouble even finding last night apparently everyone (almost) either stays in Cartago or goes all the way to Limón. The room was $150 for the three of us; bathrooms were next door in the hallway. The name was Hotel Interamericanis. Tele. 50-01-42. To Cartago enter Turrialba railroad tracks Hotel to Limón
