We have completed picking up traps. Of the 60 traps set at the 7 mi W locality, of which two I lost, I collected 2 Perognathus, 1 Ammospermophilus (escaped), 1 Neotoma, and 1 Peromyscus. Of the 40 Sherman set at the 26 Km locality, have collected 1 Dipodomys, (2 species) 4 Perognathus [illegible], [illegible] and 3 Neotoma. One Peromyscus escaped when I open the trap to check what it was. 0945 On the Hwy (1) to San Ignacio via Guerrero Negro 1500 hrs Arrived San Ignacio. Shot ligulae here. No sign of gophers although there is good soil and a large oasis with date palms. We will drive to Santa Rosalia since we see rather large clouds ahead which may rain on the road and increase herb activity 2015 hrs Arrived Mulege and checked into a hotel (Tarazona) for 287 pesos for two nights. Collected only one snake 2400 hrs Have taken tissue and prepared several Perognathus. Tomorrow we will drive to Santa Aguada where there is an oasis and vegetable gardens and also look around Mulege for evidence of gophers.
