Duke S Rogan 1982 Journal mileage readings on the way back. 1810 hrs Arrived back in Tiliran. We have rented a room for three people for $ 91.00! This has to be the cheapest ever. The room is very small, with 4 beds + the bathroom is down the hall but it's clean and the car is parked in the hotel parking area. We have brought up our personal gear, liquid N2 tank but have left the collecting equipment in the VW Bus. 2030 hrs Returned to hotel after eating. We may stay here another night if we catch Heteronys in the morning, I hope we do! 23 July (Friday) 0645 hrs Woke up after a comparatively sound night & sleep at 0500 us to someone banging on a door down the hall. 0710h We all dressed and prepared to leave for first trapping locality. 0750 hr. I collected 2 Heteronys (young adult ??) out of my 40 traps! These are very good catchers. Probably the only sample I will obtain from the northwestern area of the country! Ed returned and had caught 1 Heterony. Phil came back with 6 Heteronys and 1 O. alferoi! Based on this success we will stay here another night and try to get a big series of Heteronys from this area. 0845 hrs Returnel from checking forty traps with nothing. 30 of these were set in a patch of forest that was secondary growth ca. 15-20 years except for a few big trees. 10-traps set
