June 5 Rogez 1982 Journal (19) edge of the forest and then moved away from the forest out into a field with forbes, herbaceous clumps and some grass (grazed by cattle). Forest To Tiliran Field 3 routire N To Cañon (3.7 km) x's mark the path of 40 traps set. The forest (south end) comes up a incline of about 40°, and goes east to west (fun road inward) on an incline as well. The forest floor is covered with some leaf litter (ca 5-10 mm). The edge has more cover, with more brush and some grasses. I hope to catch leucys here, but also some Cryzenus and Sigmaden. 2200 h. Completed stuffing and pinning the remaining amimals (autotyped in San José the day before. Weather is comfortable now ca. 38 28°C, with a wind and slight breeze. I plan to sleep in the bus, very few insects. 22 July (Thursday) 0635 h. Woke up after a moderately good night's sleep (from the bus). Weather is breezy, partly cloudy ca 25°C. 0700 h. Left our camp site and drove to drop Ed off, then turned around and drove to where Phil and I have traps out.
