Jake S. Rogan 1981 Journal 0955 hrs Arrived Locality 1125 hrs Returned from checking traps. Collected 6 animals including 2 P. Thomasi; one dead, one in very bad shape). The other four animals were one each of Microtus mexicanus, Sorex sp, Reithrodontomys, and a Resonipucus (also in poor shape). 1310 hrs Arrived Orizaba. I plan to stay in the hotel room this afternoon while Dave and Stan check out nearby localities for salamanders. Back at the locality I took electrophoretic tissue on the dead Thomasi, and preserved the glomerus and part of the Semingerus tubularis in 10% formalin. I also took tissue on the Sorex. 1730 hrs Stan and Dave return from collecting. 1930 hrs Returned to room for supper. The one Thomasi is looking really well. I think he may make it back to Berkeley. 2200 hrs Turned in 8 November 0730 hrs woke up, dressed, arranged gear, then went to eat breakfast 0920 hrs Checked out of Hotel de France. We plan to drive to Mexico City today, check into a hotel near the airport. Stan and Dave will leave for the airport early in the morning, whereas I will stay at hotel until close to checkout time. 11:15 hrs Arrived Puebla and ate lunch 1240 hrs Back on the road to Mexico City.
